Day 1: Fes → Ifrane → Azrou → Ziz Valley → Merzouga

Your adventure begins early morning in Fes, departing in a comfortable 4×4 vehicle through the Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop is Ifrane (1,665m altitude), Morocco’s unique alpine resort town, where European architecture and crisp mountain air create an unexpected contrast to traditional Moroccan cities. You’ll explore its manicured gardens and photograph the famous lion statue, carved by a German prisoner during WWII.
Continuing to Azrou, you’ll venture into the cedar forest, home to centuries-old trees and troops of Barbary macaques.
