Day 1: Fes → Ifrane → Azrou → Ziz Valley → Merzouga

Your adventure begins early morning in Fes, as your private driver guides you southward into the Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop is Ifrane (1,665m), nicknamed “Little Switzerland” for its Alpine-style architecture and snow-covered peaks in winter. Here, you’ll explore the manicured gardens and distinctive European-inspired buildings of this unique Moroccan town.

Continuing to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, you’ll encounter the resident Barbary macaques in their natural habitat among centuries-old cedar trees. The journey proceeds through Midelt, known as the “Apple City,” where the landscape dramatically changes from Mediterranean to semi-arid terrain. After lunch, you’ll pass through Errachidia, entering the Ziz Valley, where a spectacular palm oasis creates a 200km green snake through the desert landscape.

Arriving in Erfoud, you’ll have the opportunity to visit fossil workshops where ancient marine fossils are transformed into decorative pieces. The historic market town of Rissani, once the gateway for desert caravans, provides a glimpse into authentic Saharan life. As the afternoon cools, mount your camel for a 1.5-hour trek through the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes, some towering up to 150 meters high. Watch the sunset paint the desert gold while your Berber guides set up camp. The evening brings traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars, followed by drum music and storytelling around the campfire. Day 2: Merzouga → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley → Ouarzazate → Marrakech

Continuing through the Dades Valley, you’ll witness the fascinating rock formations known as “Monkey Fingers” and enjoy lunch in this spectacular setting.

Your journey continues along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” passing through the Valley of Roses and Skoura Oasis. By mid-afternoon, you’ll reach the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, an 11th-century fortified village that has served as a backdrop for numerous Hollywood productions including “Gladiator” and “Game of Thrones.”

The final leg of your journey crosses the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260m), offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. Arrive in Marrakech by early evening, where your driver will transfer you to your preferred location in the city.
